Lakeside Serenity: Big Bald Cottage Escape

I jokingly mentioned to the rest of our group that I would be leaving a terrible review so that there would be no competition for booking in the future. ...but I couldn't do that, so here's what I would tell potential renters: The property is hospitable and nicely maintained. By that I mean that the cottage isn't in the middle of an unkempt forest, and has space for you and your children to run around and enjoy the outdoors rather than being stuck inside. The waterfront has a great view, and the dock is in great shape if lying in the sun is your thing. The lake is exceptionally tranquil on weekdays -- VERY few motorized vehicles. We appreciated and took advantage of the canoe, kayaks and paddle board provided, and the shed had lots of other fun activities (e.g. cornhole, ladderball, etc.) which really helped to keep the kids active and off their devices. The kitchen was well equipped (with items that didn't look like they belonged in a museum or a dump) -- we were pleasantly surprised about this, as we've rented many cottages where there aren't enough settings for the number of people it accommodates, or essential cookware is missing. It's very obvious that the owners went above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need, which is so rare. We especially appreciated the orientation binder they created, and the welcome message and bottle of wine were a really nice touch as well! We would absolutely rent here again.
