Lasswade Lake Relaxation,Great Value!

We really enjoyed our stay at Lasswade Lake. The location is great, the cottage is well equipped with the things you need. There is a nice shallow spot for toddlers to play safe under the watchful eye of adults who can sit close by on the dock. The waterfront is generous, and slopes gently from the cottage without the need for going up and down stairs. This makes it ideal for children and toddlers. The deck has a gate that also allows you to let the kids play outside while you prep lunch or dinner. The lake is peaceful and quiet. We used both the paddle boat, canoe and kayak, the water noodles, flutter boards and blow up toys. The entire lake is shallow enough to probably stand up in. You can see the bottom as the water is nice and clear. We swam off the dock which is about 5-6 ft. The kids were able to see frogs, chipmunks, squirrels, fish, a snake, dragonfly's, turtles and loons. We fished and caught, threw them back and fished again. The bedrooms were really cool at night to sleep with the use of the ceiling fans and sitting on the dock even on the hot days was bearable as there seemed to always be a nice breeze. The kitchen is stocked with everything you could need and the bathroom plus shower was great. The host left some things for visitors to use in case they forgot something (cream, body and face wash) which was a really nice touch. When we had any questions they were promptly answered. What an amazing spot! Spacious cottage, beautiful lake, very few bugs (first week of August 2024) fully stocked shed with a kayak, canoe, paddle boat, floaties, noodles and more. The lake is amazing - great fishing and swimming. Very few cottages on the lake so even if other people are around it never feels crowded. The doc gets western sun - perfect for sun all day, sunsets and stargazing at night. Really just a fantastic spot to spend a week away relaxing and recharging - I’d tell all my friends but I don’t want them to book up next summer 🤣 Overall amazing spot, my one nitpick is the cleaning checklist at the end of the stay was a bit aggressive considering there are 6 hours between checkout and the next guest arriving. Other than that a phenomenal place to stay! 15/10!
